Random Acts of Kindness at Sodalis Senior Living
Seniors from Sodalis Senior Living communities throughout Texas, from Austin to San Antonio, are giving back to their local communities through their monthly Random Acts of Kindness events.
Each Sodalis community contributes to a local organization of their choice every month. In June, Sodalis at Garden Ridge residents near San Antonio are creating ‘superhero tie pillows’ for the Garden Ridge Police and Fire Departments to give to kids when they are addressing 911 calls.
Sodalis Buda near Austin is creating ‘Blessing Bags’ for the homeless and nursing homes throughout the area, while Sodalis Valiente in the Greater Houston area is preparing to donate items to children of families who are displaced, homeless or impoverished with the Star of Hope organization, a group that helps support homeless families.
Sodalis New Braunfels residents are making gift bags for cancer patients and for the Cancer Center of New Braunfels. The gift bags will contain scarves, puzzle books, pens, candy and Chapsticks.
During May, the Sodalis at Dripping Springs community near Austin made cards for the local women’s shelter for Mother’s Day and made cards for the troops on National Armed Forces Day.
“The Random Acts of Kindness events each month benefit both our residents and those we are reaching out to who are in need,” Sodalis CEO, Shawn Corzine, said. “Our residents often say how much it means to them to have a sense of charity and have the ability to give back in some way each month at their community.”
